Pass Plus

Pass Plus Courses

Pass Plus is an established training course aimed at new drivers. It was designed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) with the help of insurers and the driving instruction industry. Pass Plus builds on your skills and knowledge. It will teach you how to anticipate, plan for and deal with all kinds of hazards, to help you become a more confident driver. Pass Pronto Driving School will cover every aspect of your Pass Plus course.

Pass Plus consists of six modules about driving in different conditions:

  • In Town Driving
  • All Weather Driving
  • Rural Roads Driving
  • Night Driving
  • Dual Carriageway Driving
  • Motorway
Pass Plus takes a minimum of six hours to complete. The practical assessment is more lenient than that used in the standard driving test, and adherence to many rules that would otherwise constitute a major mistake in the main practical exam (such as parking at an angle) does not apply. It is only required that one is able to drive safely and legally. There is no examination at the end of the Pass Plus course; rather, a certificate is awarded once the instructor is satisfied with the candidate’s competence. Each module must be completed to an achieved or exceeded standard, in order to pass. A number of insurance companies offer cheaper car insurance to drivers who have completed the Pass Plus scheme.
